The Activities Department supports units through planning, promoting and operating council-wide events that supplement -- but do not take the place of -- unit-level program. Through these high-quality activities, the department also assists with retaining and attracting members to Scouting and promotes Scouting to the community.
Some major events and programs include:

Cub Scout Adventure Camps
45 local camps provide a great day or evening experience for more than 4,000 Cub Scouts each summer.
Scouting for Food
Started in St. Louis in 1985, the nation's largest one-day food drive ulitizes youth and adult manpower to collect nearly 2 million canned items for area food pantries.
Tiger Cub Adventure Fair
Held in June at the Beaumont Scout Reservation, this family oriented event recognizes boys who have completed the Tiger Cub program with activities and games.
Grizzly Adventure Camp
This council-wide day camp is held in July at the Beaumont Scout Reservation.
Fall Fright Fest
With a Halloween theme, this event hosts more than 1,500 Cubs and parents who experience spooky encounters, games and snacks each October at the Beaumont Scout Reservation.
World and National Jamborees
The department supports volunteer leaders and Boy Scouts who are attending the 2010 National Jamboree near Washington, D.C.
Council Annual Meeting and Recognition Dinner
This late-spring event features the presentation of the year's Silver Beaver Awards, the highest award a council may present volunteer Scouters.

GRIZZLY GUIDES WANTED!
Grizzly Guides are the volunteer Scouters who help make the Cub World experience a happy, safe and positive one. This is an opportunity to share your Scouting knowledge with leaders and parents who may be new to our program.
As a Grizzly Guide, you will serve a minimum of one weekend per year April through October, but you may choose more. Your job is to check visitors into Cub World, watch for health and safety concerns, and give assistance, as needed.
You may stay overnight at the Cub World Activity Building or return each day of your weekend. The Activity Building offers sleeping quarters, a kitchen and a shower exclusively for Grizzly Guide use.
To be a Grizzly Guide, you must:
- Be at least 21 years of age and a registered Scouter.
- Complete a Grizzly Guide Application.
- Complete Grizzly Guide training.
- Serve one weekend with an experienced Grizzly Guide.
- Be willing to serve at least one weekend each year.
