Joseph Trevor Howard, a 7-year-old Cub Scout, received a Heroism Award from the National Council of the Boy Scouts of America during the Greater St. Louis Area Council's Annual Meeting and Recognition Dinner on Wednesday, May 31. Last June, Joseph rescued his 4-year-old sister, Amelia, when she jumped into the deep end of a swimming pool at her father's apartment complex. Media Release

Life Scout Michael Hertfelder was awarded the Honor Medal at the Greater St. Louis Area Council's Annual Recognition and Awards Dinner on May 24, 2004, for rescuing his two cousins from a swift-moving current.
