Indian Lore Merit Badge August 5, 2010 9 A.M. 1 P. M.
In this half-day workshop, participants will explore the Plains Indian culture. Scouts will participate in simulations of the Plains Indians’ daily activities; constructing a tipi, handling authentic reproduction items, communicating in sign language, and learning traditional songs and games. About 4-6 weeks before the workshop scouts will receive a packet of workshop logistics and details and several pre-workshop activities. Completion of the pre-workshop activities and all workshop sessions will fulfill all Indian Lore Merit Badge requirements. The workshop is free. Presentations will take place at the Museum of Westward Expansion, inside the Gateway Arch Visitor Center and outside on the Gateway Arch grounds. Reservations are required, space is limited.
