Horses

At the Swift Base you will have the opportunity to ride a horse.  Each morning and afternoon, weather permitting, we will lead rides over the trails of the Ranch.  Whether you are a cowboy, or if you have never ridden, you will have fun.

Sign-up with your entire crew, with a friend or just by yourself the night before on the program board in the Swift Lodge.

We'll show you the basics of combing and saddling your horse, and then we will show you areas of the Ranch that you've probably never seen.

If you weigh more than 250 lbs. a safety check prior to the ride will determine whether you will be permitted to ride.

If you plan to ride you must wear long pants, and shoes or boots that have a heel and are not open (like sandals).  You will be required to wear a helmet, so we suggest that you bring a bandana to help keep the helmets dry and clean.
