Rock Climbing and Rappelling

These are two separate programs available for you at Swift Base, and your crew or post can sign-up for one or both. Each program takes a full morning or afternoon.  It is fun for your entire crew or post to go together and encourage each other.

We recommend that you bring a bandana to wear under your helmet, and bring your camera.  Water is a must, so bring your canteen or water bottle.  You should wear flexible closed shoes (no sandals or water shoes).  The staff will provide everything else that you will need.

Collarbone, Baby Snake and the chimney climb are the areas where we will instruct you on the fundamentals of rock climbing.  Most campers at Swift have never rock-climbed on real rock faces, so we want you to learn the proper method safely.

Rappelling at Ranger Falls, Shady Lady and Oh Boy will take your breath away. You'll have the opportunity to do a standard rappel.
