Actually, we have two different courses: the High and the Low.
You sign up for these two experiences as a crew. It will take an entire morning or afternoon to complete either course.
The Low Course
The Low Course is made up of a number of obstacles that your crew -- working together -- must overcome. Each is a mix of physical and mental challenges. Your crew must work together as a team using all your brains and brawn if you hope to accomplish the tasks.
A trained member of our Swift staff will guide you through the course. But don't expect much help or sympathy. If you've seen Survivor, you have a clue on what the Low Course might have in store for you.
We require long pants, closed shoes and water, water, water.
The High Course
You tackle the High Course on your own. You do have a buddy that you can trust on the ground, to help you overcome the obstacles as you hang 30 feet above the forest floor.
On the High Course you wear a helmet and a climbing seat. Using harness webbing and climbing hardware, you first climb a Jacobs (or caving) ladder. After hooking into the safety, you will traverse first the monkey bridge, the log walk and then the tarzan traverse, to the postman's walk.
After overcoming those obstacles, you hook-in and do a face-first (angel) rappel off the platform. Most folks then kiss the ground.
Once you've conquered the High Course, you will be exhilarated!
For the High Course you'll need closed shoes, a bandana for under your helmet and water, water, water. It will help to pack a little courage as well.
Good luck on the High Course challenge!
