RECHARTERING INFORMATION

  • December recharters...
    will be distributed at the October Roundtable.  Please complete them as soon as possible.  They are due to a council service center by Dec. 15.
  • January recharters...
    will be distributed at the November Roundtable.  Please complete them as soon as possible.  They are due to a council service center by Jan. 15.  You are only rechartering until December 2010. 
  • February recharters...
    will be distributed at the December Roundtable.  Please complete them as soon as possible.  They are due to a council service center by Feb. 15.  You are only rechartering until December 2010. 

If you have any questions about the rechartering process, please contact your commissioner or district executive (contact info at the top of this page).  Units with January and February recharters will pay a pro-rated amount to move their charter to December beginning in 2010.

FAMILY FRIENDS OF SCOUTING

EAGLE BOARD OF REVIEW*

*Note: Miriam does not schedule Boards of Review. To schedule an appointment, please call the coordinator listed below for the week you wish to attend.

Eagle Boards of Review meet on the first, second and fourth Wednesday of each month, 7 to 9 p.m., at Parkway United Church of Christ, 2841 N. Ballas Rd., St. Louis, MO  63131 (just north of Clayton Road -- the new church on the west side of Ballas on the lower level).

To schedule an appointment, please call the coordinator below for the week you wish to attend.  Appointments are not scheduled via e-mail; however, they are happy to answer your questions.

BOARD OF REVIEW
District Eagle Board reviewers are needed! This is a fun and very flexible way to serve the Scouts of our district. Please contact Miriam Love if you or someone you know may be interested. District Eagle Boards of Review are held at Parkway United Church of Christ, 2841 N. Ballas Rd., St. Louis, MO 63131, on the first, second and fourth Wednesdays of the month by appointment only.

EAGLE LIGHT BOX
The district has a light box for use free of charge at Eagle Courts of Honor. Contact Miriam Love at 636-458-9033 or miriam.love@live.com.

There are endless resources available for all levels of camping. Click on New Horizons Camping Tips to find lots of great information to help you make that camping trip just right!

IMPORTANT!
For Your Scouts’ Safety (& Yours)

  • Be sure that EVERY Scout and adult has a current BSA Medical Form!  Keep copies in a troop binder.
  • Check the forms before leaving on every outing!  Don’t just assume that they are all there...Have the troop leader bring the binder.
  • On outings, have an adult take charge of ALL youth medications (in original containers), keep secured, and dispense as prescribed.

Boy Scout Leader Training
The New Horizons Training staff will be holding a Boy Scout Leader Training session this spring.  The Indoor Session will be April 24, 2010 at Parkway United Church of Christ.  The Outdoor Session will be May 21-23, 2010 at Beaumont Scout Reservation.  Participants must attend all sessions to be considered trained.   Pre-registration is a MUST for this course.

VENTURE LEADER TRAINING
The New Horizons District Training Staff will be hosting a Venture Leader Training session on February 27 at St. John's Lutheran Church.  For more information, click here for a flyer and details.  We hope to see you there!
