ROUNDTABLE
Cub Scout Roundtable Chairman Norma Franklin, bsantelope@charter.net
Boy Scout Roundtable Chairman Donna Topping, stvtopping@netscape.net
Roundtable is normally held the first Thursday of each month at the Farmington LDS Church on Henry St. at 7:30 p.m. This is a great opportunity for all leaders to receive important information for upcoming district-wide events and to cover the theme for the next month. This meeting is worth its weight in gold for what can be obtained while there.
The commissioner staff is on hand for answering questions, the district executive is available with council materials, and other leaders will be there to brainstorm and talk with.
The Ozark Trailblazers District takes pride in the friendships that are made by attending district-wide events and Roundtables. Don't miss out on such a wonderful opportunity to meet each month with other volunteers that have so much to share to help you be a successful leader in the district.
If the Farmington School District closes school due to inclement weather, Roundtable meetings will also be canceled.

The Ozark Trailblazers District Committee meets on the third Tuesday of every month.
Our next meeting is on January 19, 7 p.m., at Tradition Inn in Farmington.

Our next meeting is on February 9, 7 p.m., at Ponderosa in Farmington. (Meeting starts at 7:30 p.m.)
The District Commissioner staff meets on the second Tuesday of each month for dinner in Farmington. The Commissioner staff is made up of a group of highly experienced Scouters who are willing and able to help with whatever needs your unit may have. Please don't hesitate to contact your unit commissioner or District Commissioner Jim Beard, jpblueowl@yahoo.com, for assistance.
Be sure to take part in the Commissioners Challenge. Points are awarded for many of the activities that strong Scout units are already doing (for example, Have a Trained Scoutmaster = 75 pts, a Scout Attends NYLT = 150 pts, Conduct a Pack Family Campout = 100 pts, Earn the Quality Pack Award = 150 pts). Here's the bonus: At the end of the program year, the winning troop will receive a campout catered by the Commissioner staff and the winning pack will receive a pizza and big-screen movie night provided by the Commissioner staff. For more details, click here: Pack Commissioner Challenge or Troop Commissioner Challenge. Updates and scoring will be conducted at Roundtable.

CUB SCOUT DAY CAMPS!
Thanks-in-advance goes to the 2010 Adventure Camp directors -- Farmington Area: Camp Director Vicki Blumenstock and Program Director Cindy Phillips. Ste. Genevieve Area: Camp Director Patrick Keller and Program Director Deanna Keller. We thank you for your commitment to make sure that our Cub Scouts have an outstanding adventure camp this summer.

EAGLE BOARD OF REVIEW
Eagle Scout candidates should contact Sharon Carron at 314-420-3493 or skmc@sbcglobal.net to make an appointment at least 10 days prior to the expected Board of Review date. The Boards of Review are held on the third Thursday of every month at 7 p.m. (except July and August) in the North College Center, Room B at Mineral Area College (it is located around back of the college). Please make sure that the candidate has all of his materials prepared and that the Scoutmaster attends the Board of Review with the Eagle Scout candidate. CHAIRMAN POSITION VACANT
Please note: If your unit would like to host an upcoming camporee or the Klondike Derby, contact District Executive John Snipes. This is an excellent opportunity for your older Scouts to get some leadership experience and for your troop to showcase your talents to other district Scouts and Scouters.
Klondike Derby: January 30 at S bar F Scout Ranch in the Camporee Field near Wenzel Lodge. For more information please contact: Melissa Moulton mamteach@msn.com.
O.A. Fun Weekend/Banquet: February 26-28 at S bar F Ranch at the Swift Lodge. This weekend is for all Shawnee Lodge Ozark Trailblazers chapter brothers to come enjoy a weekend with other Order of the Arrow members from out district. Saturday night is also the Annual Chapter Banquet. For more information, contact Jeremy Medley at medleyj@yahoo.com.
Rapelling Day: March 20 at S bar F Ranch at the Cliffs near Castle Rock. This day is designed to help with our Boy Scout troops, Venturing crews and Explorer posts in their recruitment efforts. For more information, please contact Steve Topping at stvtopping@netscape.net.
Wouldn't your job as Cubmaster, Scoutmaster, or Committee Chairman be easier if every parent knew the Scouting plan? Why not encourage all parents to take leader training? The goal of our training staff is to get every Cubmaster, Scoutmaster and Advisor to attend their respective training course during the upcoming months. Please plan to attend the course that corresponds to your current position in Scouting. Training is the single most important thing that adult Scouters and Scout parents can do to ensure the success of their child's Scouting experience and their unit. Boys whose parents are registered and trained are more likely to earn the Eagle Scout Award. If for no other reason than that, let's work to get all of our Scout leaders and Scout parents to attend a training course.
This training is for Tiger Cub leaders, den leaders, Webelos leaders, Cubmasters and members of the committee. For future training dates, please contact Training Chairman Norma Franklin at bsantelope@charter.net .
Do you have a great Scouting story to get out to the community? Greg is ready to help you get the word out.
