Participation: Scouters are nominated by their local council to participate in conferences, then challenged to return and share the information in local training. Contact your district training chairman if you are interested.
Family Program: While a Scouter is participating in a conference, every member of his or her family is involved in a full schedule of age-specific activities. After hours fun for the entire family is also offered.
Fees: Fees for the week are $405 for conference participants; $285 for spouses and children over 20; $230 for children ages 6 to 20; $145 for children 3 to 5; $50 for children 2 and under; $290 for Mountain Trek; and $290 for NAYLE. In the event of cancellation, a $50 cancellation fee will be retained by the Training Center.
Your fee covers all meals and lodging (beginning with supper on Sunday and ending with breakfast Saturday), training materials, and family programs. Optional programs such as bus tours and Cimarron museum visits as well as handicraft supplies may be available at a nominal additional cost.
Housing and Meals: Families are housed in extra-large two-person wall tents on platforms. Each tent is equipped with twin beds, electricity, bedding and towels. Modern showers and restrooms, medical facilities, laundry and northern New Mexico's moderate climate will make you feel comfortable and at home. All meals are served in Philmont Training Center dining halls.
