If you love animals and want to learn more about how you can make a difference in their lives, you are barking up the right tree coming to the Humane Society of Missouri! The Humane Society of Missouri has unleashed many new and exciting summer programs that you can participate in! Sometime in between your camping trips and hiking expeditions....hike on over to the Humane Society of Missouri for a day or a week full of fun exploring every animal-related topic you can imagine! Serve as a Summer Camp Counselor!
Boy Scouts and Eagle Scouts ages 15-18 can earn valuable service learning hours and volunteer time serving as Summer Camp Counselors for these exciting programs! BOY SCOUTS AT THE GREEN CENTER Each season of the year offers opportunities to earn Boy Scout badges at The Green Center's 30 acres of woods, wetland, prairie, and learning gardens. The Green Center offers Scout programming to Tiger, Wolf, Bear, Webelos and Eagle Scouts. Each Scout program is 1-2 hours with a fee of $7 per Scout. Event: Free the Forest Habitat Restoration Day Date: April 05, 2008 Time: 9:00am - 12:00pm Location: The Green Center's Urban Bird Corridor between Brittany Woods Middle School & Ruth Park, Golf Course, Groby Road in University City
Groups of all ages,
Join us for a community restoration event on Saturday, April 5, 9 am to 12 pm. We will be working in the Urban Bird Corridor, an important habitat connecting The Green Center's prairie, wetland, and Ruth Park Woods. The primary activity will be planting native shrubs, small tree, and herbaceous plants in areas that have been previously cleared of invasive species.
Parking is available near Brittany Woods Middle School, 8125 Groby Road, University City. Follow signs to the work site.
We welcome individuals, families, youth, and community service groups. This is a great opportunity for Scouts to participate in a community service project and earn badge requirements!
