SIGNING UP -- As a Unit

From October 1 through December 31,  reservations are accepted from Explorer posts and Venturing crews of the Greater St. Louis Area Council exclusively. 

Beginning January 1, the Camping Service will begin taking reservations from high school age Scouts from the Greater St. Louis Area Council and posts or crews from outside of the Council.

You may bring your reservation form into one of the Council Service Centers or mail it to:

To assure that the facility is not overcrowded, when we reach the capacity of the camp, we will close that week to additional crews, posts, and troops. Sign-up capacity at Swift Base will be 125 Explorers or Venturers per week. Units that procrastinate in signing up for camp after the exclusive post and crew signup period, severely limit their choices. Camps will be filled on a first-come, first served basis.

The reservation fee is $25.00 per Venturer or Explorer. There is no minimum number of Venturers or Explorers necessary to make a unit reservation. We ask you to project as closely as possible your actual attendance. Please don’t make reservations for 20 Venturers or Explorers when you believe you’ll have just 10 attend camp and likewise don’t make reservations for 15 Venturers or Explorers when you believe you’ll have 25 at camp.

SIGNING UP -- As an Individual

If your unit is unable to attend Swift, or is going on another high adventure, and you would still like to attend, you may sign up for the Provisional Crew. Each week at camp, another crew will be hosting individuals who want to attend, even if their crew is not. There is no additional cost for this. Signups for the provisional crew begin in January. Just fill out the provisional signup and send in your fee.



The 2014 summer camp fee will be $260.00. We encourage every crew to use the camper savings plan which will allow the Venturers and Explorers to save $15 on the total fee if the full fee is paid by March 1, 2014.
The camp fee includes meals, program and tentage.  You need only bring to camp enough money for souvenirs, T-shirts and goodies at the Trading Post.


All requests for refunds must be made in writing within 30 days of the crew or post's departure from camp.  Refund checks will be made out and sent to the crew or post only.  Refunds are not available for those arriving late or leaving early. Refunds are not available after September 30, 2013.
