Charter Oak Program

Greater St. Louis Area Council – BSA

Essentially, the Charter Oak program is designed to provide a quick start and a successful outdoor experience for a new Scout Troop with new leaders and new boys, in other words, no Leadership Corps.

The Charter Oak weekend experience will emphasize the Patrol Method and encourage the attending leaders to essentially stay in the background and enjoy the weekend. This outdoor experience takes place at Beaumont Scout Reservation’s archery range.

There have also been other successful uses of the Charter Oak program:

  • Special Needs troops
