Pine Ridge Scout Camp is nestled in the heart of the Shawnee National Forest along the shores of Little Grassy Lake, southeast of Carbondale. The land is part of the Crab Orchard National Wildlife Refuge.
The Shawnee River Trail, the Crab Orchard and Panthers Den Wilderness all surround the lakes of this refuge. Scouts have unbelievable outdoor resources at their disposal.
Pine Ridge Scout Camp is located on the northwest shore of the lake. From Giant City Road, turn on Grassy Road. Once you have crossed the dam, turn right on the gravel road and follow it to the camp. Year-round camping and fishing is available.
Climbing is available at nearby Giant City State Park for troops, crews, and posts with trained leadership. Giant City is one of the neatest climbing spots around, and just down the road from camp. Gear is checked out at Pine Ridge Scout Camp. Cost is $60 per group.
Musgraves, Troop, and Bailey Lodge are available for rent year-round. Musgraves and Troop Lodge are available to Webelos dens from April through September.
Troops and crews with trained leaders may rent canoes to use on Little Grassy Lake. Eight are available.
Cub Scout Day Camp and Webelos Mini-camp programs are available each summer. See details elsewhere on this website.
This large open-air pavilion is available for packs, troops, crews, and posts. It makes a great meeting site.
Available to Webelos dens, Scout troops, Venture Crews, and Explorer posts. It's year-round, and free to Scout units.
To make all reservations you will need to call one of our Scout Service Centers. Our camp ranger cannot do so.
