YOUTH PROTECTION TRAINING
MANDATORY FOR ALL REGISTERED ADULTS
Youth
safety is the No. 1 concern of the Boy Scouts of America (BSA).
Youth Protection Training (YPT) is required for all registered volunteers.
New
leaders are required to take YPT before they submit their application
for registration. The certificate of completion for this training must
be submitted at the time the application is made and before volunteer
service with youth begins.
YPT
must be taken every two years. If a volunteer's YPT record is not
current at the time of recharter (January 31), he/she will not be
reregistered.
There
are three versions of YPT: (1) Cub/Boy Scout leaders, (2) Venturing
leaders, and (3) Exploring leaders. You must take the one corresponding
to your registration(s). If you are registered in multiple units, you
must take all that apply.
Taking YPT online is easy at your MyScouting Account. For credit, you MUST enter your member ID number in the profile tab or print the certificate at the end and submit it to a council service center.
