jmueller@stlbsa.org ST. LOUIS--Representatives of the construction industry and other related businesses will get to relive their days as a Cub Scout and raise funds for Scouting during the second annual Construction Industry Pinewood Derby at 5:30 p.m. on Wednesday, April 10, at
The Moto Museum.
Proceeds will benefit the Greater St. Louis Area Council Boy Scouts of America.
During the last 50-plus years, millions of Cub Scouts throughout the nation built Pinewood Derby cars with their parents or guardians. Pinewood Derby kits consist of a block of wood, four nails (axels) and four wheels. Cars were built and raced during Cub Scout pack meetings. Trophies are awarded for the fastest and the most well-designed cars.
The Construction Industry Pinewood Derby will give adults an opportunity to experience the satisfaction of the build and the thrill of the race. Many different levels of sponsorship are available. The base entry fee is $500 per car and includes two tickets to the event and a quarter-page advertisement in the program. General admission tickets are $50 with a maximum of five additional tickets per Pinewood Derby car available.
