American Legion, Department of Missouri Seeks Nominations For Eagle Scout of the Year

The American Legion Department of Missouri annually selects the American Legion Eagle Scout of the Year. The winner will receive a $500 scholarship and will be honored at the 2014 American Legion Convention in Jefferson City. The winner’s nomination form will be forwarded for the national competition. The 2014 National American Legion Eagle Scout of the Year winner will receive a $10,000 scholarship and will join the Youth Champion Delegation and participate in the 96th Annual Legion National Convention in Charlotte, N.C. Aug. 22-26, 2014. There are three national runner-up awards of $2,500 each. All scholarships will be awarded upon graduation from high school.

Nomination forms are due no later than Feb. 15, 2014. A committee will review the applications. Nomination forms and eligibility requirements can be downloaded from www.missourilegion.org. It is essential that all eligibility requirements are met and documented on the nomination form.
