Seventy-eight Scouts from Southeast Missouri and Southern Illinois earned the Eagle Scout rank in 2013. Those Scouts were recognized at the annual Eagle Scout Court of Honor held at Southeast Missouri State University on Saturday, Feb. 8, 2014. Maurice (Marcy) B. Graham, president of the St. Louis litigation law firm of Gray, Ritter & Graham, P.C. was the guest speaker at the event, while Luke Landgraf served as Chairman of the Court of Honor.

Fewer than five percent of all Scouts attain the rank of Eagle, the highest honor in the Boy Scout program. In 2013, 588 Scouts from the Greater St. Louis Area Council achieved Eagle.

An Eagle Scout from Troop 26 in Fredericktown, Mo., Mr. Graham shared how reaching the Eagle rank has influenced his life both personally and professionally. He still benefits from the skills and lessons he learned from his Scouting career, which included many trips to Camp Lewallen and visit to the National Jamboree in Irvin Ranch, Calif.

Mr. Graham practiced in Fredericktown for a number of years before moving to St. Louis. Mr. Graham is a former president of The Missouri Bar, was Missouri Lawyers Weekly’s lawyer of the year, received the distinguished Alumni Award from both the University of Missouri and Central Methodist University, and has been listed by Super Lawyers as one of the top 10 lawyers in Missouri and Kansas for the past three years. He is a member of The American College of Trial Lawyers, International Society of Barristers and International Academy of Trial Lawyers. His practice is concentrated almost solely to litigation.
