Bring Your Cubs To Magic House For Programs And Camp-Ins
You're invited to scout out some fun at The Magic House, St. Louis Children's Museum. From badge workshops to camp-ins, we invite you to explore our house for your next Scouting adventure.  During the school year, badge workshops for Cub Scouts are available on Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays at 3:30 p.m. or 4:30 p.m. and select Fridays at 4 p.m., 5:15 p.m., 6 p.m. or 7:45 p.m.  These programs meet requirements for Webelos (Scientist Activity Badge and Artist Activity Badge) and Bears (Electricity and Nature Craft Electives).

Cost is $7 per Scout and $7 for accompanying adults and leaders. Reservations are required and can be made online at  In addition, The Magic House can bring badge workshops to your school available after school and on evenings or weekends. The outreach programs are $7 per Scout, with a minimum of 10 Scouts and a maximum of 20 Scouts.  Reservations are required and can be made online at
The Magic House also offers Camp-Ins for Webelos.  Scout groups can camp inside under the exhibits and have The Magic House all to themselves on select Fridays from November to May. Webelos earn a Scientist Activity Badge. Cost is $32 per person. Reservations are required and can be made by calling 314-822-8900.

The Magic House is a not-for-profit participatory museum that provides hands-on learning experiences for children and families that encourage participation, experimentation, creativity and the development of problem-solving skills within a place of beauty, wonder, joy and magic. Regular museum admission is $7 per person. Children under the age of 1 are free.
The Magic House is located at 516 S.  Kirkwood Road, one mile north of Interstate 44 in historic downtown Kirkwood.  Public hours are Tuesday through Thursday, noon to 5:30 p.m., Friday noon to 9 p.m., Saturday 9:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. and Sunday 11 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. The museum is closed on Mondays. Come to the Museum of Transportation and earn your Traveler Badge!
Webelos Scouts can earn their Traveler Badge on afternoons when school is off. The program will take about 1 1/2 to 2 hours. The cost will be $3 for boys and $4 for adults. Please bring a pencil and calculator. Boys are required to wear their uniform. Program is limited to 8 boys.

Wheels for the World
Used wheelchairs are collected by local volunteers, refurbished at prisons, and distributed by teams of volunteers from the USA working with local churches overseas (25,000 wheelchairs in 10 years).  Walkers, crutches and canes are also collected.  Suggestions for promoting a collection drive, tax receipts, and a marked trailer are provided.  Contact: Joni and Friends-Gateway at 314-727-6987 (toll-free: 877-727-6987) or

Treasures From The Sea
An informative and entertaining lecture for children of all ages about ocean life. Not only will it include facts, but it will also give the children a chance to view items they may never have seen before. Just a few of the many nonliving things that will be available to experience include: starfish, sand dollars, octopi, sea horses, blowfish and seashells galore.
