9 a.m. - 2 p.m.
On March 29, 2014, Cahokia Mounds will present the first half of the Archaeology Merit Badge. During this portion, Scouts will learn various aspects of Archaeology, as well as receiving aids and outlines needed to complete the requirements.
Cost: The cost for the skill center will be $20 and includes a CM patch, an Illinois Archaeology booklet and a flint napping kit.
Time: Registration will be from 9-9:30 a.m. at the Cahokia Mounds Interpretive Center, Collinsville, Illinois. The program will end at approximately 2 p.m.
Attire/Food: Please dress properly for the weather and bring a sack lunch and a drink.
What to bring: Bring along the Archaeology Merit Badge book and your Blue/White MB Card to the first session.
Register: The class size is limited. Please call Bill Meister at (618) 274-7000 between the hours of 8 a.m. and 2 p.m. for registration.
The second session will consist of "DIG TIME" and will be offered on various dates during June and July this summer. Professor John Kelly (618-540-8109) will be the contact person for setting up dig dates. Completed requirements will be turned in to the gift shop at that time.
