Units who earned the Beacon Award in 2011 are listed below in alphabetical order according to district, with pictures shown in random order. The council's public relations department will select photos for publication on the website and/or in the Duffle Bag from those submitted with the Beacon Award Application

​Boone Trails
  • Pack 530 -- cleaned up outdoor classroom (wooden area with 1/2-mile trail used by students and teachers to learn about nature) at Castlio Elementary School
  • Pack 977 -- partipated in Veterans Day flag-raising ceremony at Rock Creek Elementary; performed as color guard during school-wide assembly afterwards
Gravois Trail
  • Troop 200 -- walked in Veterans Day Parade with flags for American Gold Star Mothers
  • Troop 826 -- promoted troop through weekly e-note from Sperreng Middle School principal inviting people to come see what they are doing
Kaskaskia
  • Pack 41 -- led audience and Vienna Grade School officials in Pledge of Allegiance at Vienna Grade School open house as they initiated U.S. flag in gym donated by Vienna VFW
  • Pack  44 -- participated in annual Veterans Day Parade hosted by Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 3455
  • Pack 112 -- carried American Flag and led Murphysboro Apple Festival Pet & Hobby Parade
New Horizons
  • Pack 310 -- served as color guard prior to River City Rascals game
  • Pack 328 -- provided color guard and led Pledge of Allegiance for ValleyPalooza Music Festival
  • Pack 336 -- performed flag raising ceremony at St. Michael the Archangel School in honor of veterans
North Star
  • Troop 686 -- participated in Ferguson’s Fourth of July parade
Osage
  • Pack 452 -- participated in pre-game ceremonies at St. Louis Rams games, taking part in holding giant American flag on field for national anthem; also sold more than 100 tickets to members, family, friends and fellow Scouts and were recognized by Rams organization as unit selling most tickets for Scout Honor Day
River Trails
  • Pack 416 -- presented colors and the Pledge of Allegiance; retired colors after breakfast
